Having established itself as a creative forum for creators of children's content over the past seven editions Jumpstart has always been peeping in through the windowpanes of the classroom and has occasionally sneaked into the Library. This time it marches in through the school gates...but without the regulation uniform. Still telling stories, still asking questions, tie purposefully askew.
You are invited to join Orit Bergman in a daylong session during Jumpstart 2016, to understand the creative process that goes into writing picture books. The workshop will show the techniques used and how the work of an illustrator impacts the children, teacher and the authors.
Born in Israel’s capital Jerusalem, Orit Bergman writes and illustrates children’s books, and frequently contributes illustrations to newspapers, magazines, advertisement campaigns, and exhibitions. Her recent works include: Creator and animation in 'The Observatory' a theater production by Clipa Theater created for The Israel Festival Jerusalem 2011, Set design and illustrations for 'K', a theater production by Clipa Theater created for The Israel Festival Jerusalem 2009 (Silver Medal NY Society of Illustrators), Comme Il Faut (summer catalogue and window design for the fashion chain), Israir (ads & calendar for the Israeli airline), the Bloomfield Science Museum, Jerusalem (Toys & Physics exhibition).
